Hello everyone! My name is Nolan, and I am fourth year Business Economics and Law student!

Over my four years at the University of Alberta I have been involved in student advocacy primarily through residence and am looking to get more involved across campus. I am running for this position as I think it is a great opportunity to become more involved in my faculty and help advocate for students concerns and needs. If you would like to chat about anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at ncgreenw@ualberta.ca!

Running For: Business - Students' Council

Hello! My name is Dasmesh Singh Puri. I’m in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business Technology Management, and I’m running to be your concierge for the Business Faculty — someone who’s here to listen, support, and make your student experience better.

Over the past four years, I’ve loved finding ways to give back to our campus community. I’ve welcomed new students as a Team Facilitator and University Ambassador, helped create memorable moments at Students’ Union events with Event Crew, and even flipped pancakes at Week of Welcome. I’ve also focused on wellness, running activities through the Business Students’ Association and working with the CMHA student group to raise awareness around mental health on campus. Alongside these initiatives, I’ve volunteered as a supervisor at the UAAC Tax Clinic to provide students with hands-on support and guidance throughout the tax filing process and taken on a leadership role in organizing fundraising events that raised thousands for Make-A-Wish through the Student for Wishes student group.

If elected to the Students’ Council, I want to continue serving students in ways that make a real difference. My priorities are:

  • Advocating for Business courses to be included in the Zero Textbook Cost program.
  • Pushing for fairer alternatives to expensive mandatory online homework platforms.
  • Launching cost-saving supports like a Business Attire Closet and free headshot booths.
  • Keeping Business students informed and giving them clear insight into how their interests are being represented.

I believe the Students’ Council should create changes that students can actually feel in their day-to-day lives, and that’s the commitment I want to bring to representing Business.
