SUBsprout
The SUBsprout Thrift Store is a student-focused secondhand shop primarily located in the Students’ Union Building (SUB) at the University of Alberta. SUBsprout may also sprout up around other locations on campus, so be sure to keep an eye out for announcements!
Our goal is to make sustainable shopping easy, affordable, and accessible for students. We offer a rotating selection of gently used clothing, books, and other small items, all priced with student budgets in mind. This year, all proceeds from SUBsprout go to the Students' Union & Community Early Learning Centre.
We also host workshops and events focused on sustainable living, clothing repair, and low-waste habits so you can keep your favourite pieces in use longer and learn how small changes can make a big impact.
Donations
Students can donate clean, gently used clothing, books, jewelry and other small items in exchange for swap credits toward select items in-store. Bring your donations to InfoLink Student Life Central (lower level SUB) during business hours.
