Sponsorship and Advertising on Campus
The Students' Union's sponsorship programs give organizations a chance to be part of campus events in a way that benefits both the business and the Students' Union (UASU).
Event Sponsorship
The UASU hosts a variety of annual flagship initiatives which draw hundreds to thousands of students throughout each school year, including:
- New Student Orientation, at the end of August
- Week of Welcome (WOW), at the beginning of September
- Campus Cup, in October
- AntiFreeze, in January
- and more throughout each term!
The key event at the start of each year is WOW, when we welcome close to 35,000 new and returning students back to campus. Viewed as a major sponsorship opportunity by many organizations, we offer a variety of ways to be involved.
Advertising Opportunities
We operate a growing digital signage network of digital displays, known as SUTV, both at the University of Alberta and other institutions across Canada. SUTV boasts approximately 130 screens across the University of Alberta campuses in Edmonton and Camrose.
Each year the UASU also publishes a student handbook, which is mailed to domestic students going into their first year of studies, and is distributed across the University throughout the year.

Every year the UASU hosts a variety of events that offer sponsorship opportunities. From annual flagship events like Week of Welcome, to more frequent recurring events like our weekly Trivia Tuesdays and Movie Nights in the Horowitz Theatre, we have something that can suit your advertising needs.
Student Handbook
We mail the Handbook to first-year students in Canada each year in August. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with first-year students before anyone else! Handbooks are also distributed to the rest of the student body during Week of Welcome.
Revenues offset the cost of printing so that we can distribute it for free to undergraduates.

Digital Signage: SUTV
SUTV is a network of more than 130 digital screens located primarily on the University of Alberta's North Campus. It is a uniquely targeted way to keep students and staff up to date with your organization’s ongoing promotions, services or products.
Display your ads for up to 40,000 students and 14,000 staff on campus. Revenues support general student programming, and help to expand the network.
Tabling in the Students' Union Building
Approximately 10,000 people visit the Students' Union Building (SUB) every day. Table space in the Students' Union Building can be booked by commercial businesses, not-for-profits, university departments and student groups alike.
