Peer Support Centre

Peer Support Centre: We're here to listen.

Welcome! We are open for walk-ins and appointments!

About Us

Need someone to talk to? We're here to listen.

The Peer Support Centre (PSC) is a Students' Union service that offers a free, confidential, and non-judgemental place to talk to someone for support. No issue is too big or too small. Our trained volunteers offer peer support, crisis management, information and resources, as well as a safe and confidential place to talk. Our volunteers will listen to help you uncover some steps you can use to improve your situation, no matter what the issue. We also have a library of on and off-campus resources to give you an idea of where to go when you leave the Centre.

Make an Appointment by clicking on the button at the top of the page and filling out the form. The form requires you to fill out a name, but since we want to ensure your confidentiality feel free to put “Client” or “Anon” when filling it out. If you choose to use your own name, this information will be kept confidential within our service. There will be a confirmation email sent confirming your appointment. Appointments must be booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Please note: Our appointment and drop-in availability depends on volunteer capacity. We release our appointment slots in two-week increments based on volunteer availability. If you find no slots available, please consider dropping into our centre for a walk-in session or accessing our booking page at a different time. Due to the space limitations of our centre, we can only support two clients per hour. Our centre may be closed during office hours if we've reached our client capacity. If so, please visit us at a later time that same day or book an appointment for another time that works for you. We are unable to offer sessions within 30 minutes of closing as they are approximately one hour in length. If you visit our centre within a half hour of closing, we can assist you in exploring different resources for your specific situation and or help you to book an appointment for a later date.

How to book an appointment:

  • Access our booking page via this link!. We are also open to walk-ins during our operating hours: Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 9AM to 5PM and Tuesday/Thursday from 9AM to 7PM.

  • View our available times and select one that will work for you. Then select whether you would like a virtual appointment (via Google Meets) or an in-person appointment (in SUB 2-707). Calendly allows appointments to be booked 24 hours in advance.

  • After you have made your selection, you will receive an email from us confirming the appointment and a calendar invite.

  • If you selected a virtual session, you will receive an email confirmation and a Google calendar invite. When it’s time for your appointment, click on the Google Meets link on the calendar event to join the meeting. Ensure you are accessing the meeting from Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser; otherwise, Google Meets may not work. Feel free to use your webcam during your session if you're comfortable.

  • If you selected an in-person appointment, come to our office in SUB 2-707 at the time of your appointment, and a volunteer will let you in and get you set up for your session. We may ask that you wait a couple of minutes in our reception area until a volunteer is ready to support you.

If you're unable to book an appointment or we are closed for walk-ins, please call the Edmonton Distress Line at 780-482-HELP to talk to someone right away, 24 hours a day.

Have you had a session with us before? If so, we would appreciate it if you would fill out our confidential Client Feedback Form!
