What is Family Orientation?

Family Orientation is a program offered by New Student Orientation that focuses on the transition of not only new students, but also their families to the UofA community. Family Orientation, along with service providers across campus offer sessions about academics, finances, and student life to give students and families tips and tricks to supporting one another throughout the transition to university.

In-person Family Orientation took place on July 16th. If you were unable to attend, please check out our webinars as a great resource instead.

The Family Orientation webinars are an additional resource for families and students who are starting university. Each webinar focuses on a topic pertinent to the transition to university, and has lots of time for questions.

The Academic Success Centre's Academic Bootcamp

Want to get in peak academic shape before September? Take an interactive, in-person workshop from the Academic Success Centre that helps you get ready for a year at one of Canada's great universities.

We'll show you what you can expect from your classes, how to communicate with professors, how to study effectively, and much more. You'll meet potential classmates and future friends, and we'll share insider tips to help you make the most of our amazing campus. Join us for a full Saturday workshop, or take the sessions over two evenings.

Cost:

$125.00 per student

Dates:

Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (lunch provided)

OR

Tuesday, August 23 & Thursday, August 25, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (dinner provided)
