Students' Union Building (SUB)
Until further notice, the Students' Union Building is open from 7 am to 11 pm, seven days a week, including statutory holidays.
Don't forget that when you are in SUB, you must wear a mask.
The University requires that all faculty, staff, students - and visitors to all U of A campuses - wear masks at all times in all university indoor common-use spaces. With regard to SUB, the only exception is when you are actively eating or drinking in a designated area.
Owned and operated by the Students' Union, SUB is a hub of student activity, and houses all of the SU's services and most of its businesses, including Room at the Top and the Horowitz Events Centre.
The building contains several different spaces (including a designated "quiet space" on the Lower Level) where students can study or relax for as long as they choose, an essential service that is a key part of a thriving campus environment.
Two years ago we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the building, which was opened in 1967. You can read more about the history of SUB here or by clicking on the SUB50 menu on the left.
(Normally, SUB is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week (except for the holidays between terms), during the Fall and Winter terms, and open 7am to 11pm, seven days a week (except holidays) during the Spring and Summer months.)
