Safewalk

A free accompaniment service for anyone travelling on or around campus at night

Now Accepting Volunteer Applications For Winter 2019!

Due to continued extreme cold warnings expect regular Safewalk closures. Safewalk will also be closed for reading week as many of our volunteers will be away, service is expected to resume on Monday February 25th. keep an eye on our website and social media for more details, and stay warm out there!

Safewalk provides a safe and reliable alternative to walking alone at night around the campus community and beyond. Safewalk was created not as a reaction to crime, but as a proactive step to build the safest possible campus community. We serve campus by walking clients and patrolling as a measure of crime deterrence, while upholding a strict policy of non-intervention.

Safewalk is free of charge and is available to any member of the surrounding community—undergrads, graduate students, staff, faculty, and members of the public. Whether you don't like to walk alone after dark, or would just like some company on your trip, give us a call!

To use Safewalk, call 780 4 WALKME (780 492 5563). Our dispatchers will send a two-person team to meet you and walk you anywhere within our boundaries. You can also approach any patrolling team on campus.
