Campus Cup
Campus Cup is a campus wide dodgeball tournament for all students, staff and alumni. This year's tournament took place November 25th-27th, with Decepticons winning after three days of tough competition.
What is Campus Cup?
Campus Cup is the annual, university-wide dodgeball tournament put on and run by the Students’ Union. It involves 48 coed teams that are pit against each other over one weekend as they each strive to win the elusive Campus Cup; an impressive trophy that towers over 4 feet tall. Although there is a physical trophy awarded to the playoff champions, the tournament itself is founded in the intentions of fun, fair play, sportsmanship, and campus community. Teams can be submitted by any area of the University of Alberta, be they student, staff, or alumni.
Campus Cup began as a collaboration between the Students’ Union, the Lister Dodgeball League, the Residence Halls Association, the Office of the Dean of Students, the Alumni Association, and Campus Recreation as a tournament to expose dodgeball to the greater University community while simultaneously creating hype for the first Break the Record attempt. It has since morphed into the annual event that is open to everyone in someway connected to the UofA. As long as the university has an interest of dodgeball, Campus Cup will be around to fulfill that need.
