Strategic Plan

Strategic Planning helps to define direction and priorities, and should be a fundamental activity of any organization. The Students’ Union’s first Strategic Plan was created in 1992, and was updated in 2001. Given the growth of the organization, the changes in the surrounding environment, and the increasing sophistication of its programs, the Students' Union executives and staff, working with students’ councilors, and students-at-large, began the process of creating a new Strategic Plan in September of 2010. After a draft document was made available for review by undergraduate students, the new Strategic Plan was approved on March 30, 2011, and is available here.

The first section of the document includes the Students’ Union’s Mission, Values and Vision. The second section includes the Strategic Goals, which were determined by a number of Critical Success Factors that must be achieved in order for the organization to succeed in meeting its mission and vision.

Bylaw 4000, passed by Students’ Council in March 2011, requires the SU to "develop, maintain, and use" a Strategic Plan, which will be reviewed and/or renewed every four years.
