Group Leader Orientation

Group Leader Orientation (GLO) is the training piece of the student group recognition cycle. In addition to registering/re-registering your student group each year, members of your student group executive team are required to complete GLO before or on your registration deadline.

GLO contains three components; Essentials, Finances, and Skills available on this eClass course. Student groups are required to complete each component of training.*

GLO: Essentials

GLO: Essentials teaches student group leaders about policies and resources for student groups. All student groups are required to complete GLO: Essentials.

GLO: Finances

This module covers expectations for student groups handling their own financial assets and some general budgeting tips and tricks recommended by Student Group Services. If your student group handles money, then the executive member in charge of finances will need to complete GLO: Finances.

*Student groups that do not handle money are exempt from completing the Finances component.

GLO: Skills

To remain in good standing, clubs must complete a minimum of one Skills topic and its corresponding quiz. Complete as many topics as you would like, if they are of interest to you!

In GLO: Skills, a variety of topics related to leadership, community organizing, and club management at the U of A will be covered. Complete as many or as few of the topic modules as you would like, and feel free to refer back to them as resources throughout your student group career. New topics are being added to the GLO: Skills eClass each month!
