How to Swap Items

Drop off clothing and other items at select UASU InfoLink locations during the donation period(s). InfoLink locations accepting donations include Central Academic Building (CAB), Student Life Central (SUB), and SUB Main Floor. All acceptable items collected during this period will be made available at both of the Swaps.

When you drop off your items, staff will collect information from you to give you credit to shop with at the next swap date! Information we collect includes:

  • Your contact information
  • An estimate of the number of items you are donating to the swap
  • Information and your consent to have your donated items sold or donated elsewhere* after the swaps are over.

UASU InfoLink staff will also have you fill out a Green Market Voucher. This voucher will identify you as an item donor, and serve as credit at the Swap. Bring your voucher to the Swap, and the volunteers or staff at the event will tell you how many items you may take from the swap! Your credit will be determined based on the number of acceptable items you donate to the event.

Items unfit to be sold will either be donated to an organization in need, or if in poor quality, offered to Blenderz Garment Recyclers.

Clothing: all clothing items must be in good condition and must be void of any holes, rips, tears, stains, or other colour disfigurations. Clothing must be cleaned and in a sealed bag. We will not accept donations of socks or undergarments.

Household Goods: household goods can include kitchen appliances, decor, books, and more. Please ensure that all items donated are in working condition with no dents, chips, or scratches and are properly cleaned before being donated.

If you have any questions regarding the swap or any accommodation requests, please reach out to us or message us on Instagram!

Nothing to donate? You can still shop!

If you don't have any items to trade, don't sweat it! We offer financial transactions for those who might want to make purchases. We will accept cash, credit and debit.

Revenue from the Clothing & Item Swap will be donated to Indigenous Climate Action.

Clothing will be sorted and stored on racks, tables and in bins. Signage will inform shoppers the cost of items, typically between $2 and $5.

A special rack will be established for more lucrative items - these items may be priced individually.

Short on cash? We will also be running a Food Drive with the Campus Food Bank. We will accept non-perishable food items in exchange for clothes and items. Most often this will be a one-for-one swap, however, more than one non-perishable item may be required for more lucrative items.
