Peer Support Centre: We're here to listen.
Peer Support volunteers are advocates of reducing mental health stigma, and promoting discussion of a variety of mental health concerns. We host various tabling events across campus to increase awareness of our services and to give students an opportunity to interact with our volunteers. We have collaborated with other student groups and other organizations, such as the Kids Help Phone Committee and Unwind Your Mind, successfully increasing mental health awareness.

The Peer Support Centre Presents "The Nuance of Social Media - The Impacts on Mental Health" Webinar on Monday, November 21st at 5pm!
Friend requests, stories, likes, and comments. Social media has connected us in no other way before. But what are the implications of social media on our mental health? The divide between expectations versus reality, having social comparisons at the palms of our hands, and balancing social media use pose a great deal of challenges. If you're struggling right now, you are not alone. Join the Peer Support Centre for a webinar on social media and mental health, with perspectives from guest experts Tommy Ho (MACP, Fresh Start Program Coordinator; UofA Academic Success Centre) and Jeffrey Brassard (MA, PhD; UofA Sociology Professor). We'll explore topics like mental health trends, social comparisons, and balancing social media with productivity.
Register here on eventbrite and we hope to see you there!
