Ready to take your leadership to new heights?

Launched in 2018, the Applied Leadership Program (ALP) is a full -year student leadership program that fosters students and their ideas that have potential to change the communities around them. ALP is grounded in leadership skills that are similar to those discussed throughout ELP and ASLS such as a values-based leadership, collaboration, and practicing skills that cause social change.

Participants will also be connected to U of A Alumni and mentors to help develop their project and provide insight to program design. Participants will meet with their mentors for approximately 1 hour per month or as needed throughout the program to ensure they get the support they need.

This program is free to U of A students and meals will be provided at each meeting for participants.


There are 8 formal meetings throughout the program. Participants are able to miss a maximum of 2 meetings throughout the program. The dates for this year's program are as follows:

  • Saturday, October 19 (10:00AM-5:00PM)
  • Thursday, November 7 (5:30PM-8:30PM)
  • Thursday, November 28 (5:30PM-8:30PM)
  • Thursday, January 9 (5:30PM-8:30PM)
  • Saturday, January 25th ASLS (10-5:30)
  • Thursday, January 30 (5:30PM-8:30PM)
  • Thursday, February 13 (5:30PM-8:30PM)
  • Thursday, April 9th (5:30-8:30)
