Interpreters engage visitors by sharing the museum's stories through conversation, activities, demonstrations, and tours. Interpreters provide support on the gallery floor and are responsible for assisting with the delivery of tours as well as providing additional information to visitors about the museum, its collections, and programs.

Time commitment: Specified days during the museum’s public hours
Winter Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Weekends, 10:00 am to
5:00 pm.
Summer Hours: Daily 10:00am to 5:30pm

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Being present on the gallery floor and engaging with visitors.
• Greeting museum visitors.
• Contributing to a positive visitor experience.
• Delivering guided tours to visitors for group bookings.
• Ensuring the safety of visitors and artifacts.
• Assisting with special events.
• Gathering visitor feedback and comments.

Are you dedicated and willing to take initiative? The Alberta Aviation Museum is seeking a volunteer to work in our Research Library. Specifically, this role will require sorting through digital catalogue entries and re-categorizing/ re-entering data. Must be detail oriented and comfortable working alone at repetitive tasks.

Simulator Saturdays Attendants assist visitors on our museum’s
Redbird flight simulators. The activity covers aircraft controls, preparing an
aircraft for flight, take-off/landing, and flight safety. Volunteers will start with
an introduction, that participants will then be able to apply to their allotted 20
minutes of flight.
This volunteer activity takes place on Saturdays between 10:00 am – 5:00 pm,
with shifts from 10am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-5:00pm.

Time commitment: Schedule is flexible for most Saturdays. Must be able to
commit to at least 1 Saturday per month.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Deliver program in a fun and interactive format.
• Supervise and provide feedback to students using the museum’s Redbird
Flight Simulators.
• Respond to visitor questions.
• Address feedback or comments from visitors
