The sky is the limit when you share Astronomical information. Share your passion for astronomy and showcase the skies above as an Assistant Observatory Attendant. Our knowledgeable Observatory Attendants supervise the set-up and use of telescopes during public observing sessions, and share relevant information to lead our guests on an astronomical adventure.
September - June - Weekend Shifts (Saturday, Sunday & Holidays): 12:45 - 4:00pm OR 6:45pm - 10:00pm.
Friday Shifts: 6:45pm - 10:00pm.

July - August - Daily Shifts, (Mon - Sun):1:00pm - 4:45pm.
Evening Shifts,(Sun - Thurs)6:45pm - 10:15pm OR Evening Shifts, (Fri & Sat) 7:45pm -12:15am. Observatory shifts can be scheduled on the same day each week throughout the summer , OR the equivalent number of hours (minimum 40) can be completed over a compressed 2 to 3 week period, with daily shifts 4-6 hours in length scheduled each week.

Help children realize the wonderment of discovery through hands-on learning experiences. This is a great opportunity to work with our School Program Instructors in a classroom setting. You will be involved in assisting the instructors with set up and take down of interpretive program materials, organizing and packing of program kits, and inspiring and motivating students through guided support.
September - June Weekday shifts:
Monday to Friday 9:00am - 2:30pm (am or pm shifts as per bookings)
Home School Programs - One Monday per Month 10:30am - 3:45pm, as per booking, (morning and/or afternoon)
Special Themed Events - Various Weekdays 9:00 - 3:00pm, as per event. (morning and/or afternoon booking).

The Science Garage invites guests of all ages to get their hands and minds busy with science as they create, compete, test, and build their way through a wide variety of activities and displays. This highly interactive gallery features several unique elements including a magnetic roller coaster wall, vertical wind tunnels and freedom climber wall.
This gallery also features a fully operational makerspace, stocked with a variety of materials. Guests are tasked with putting their imaginations to the ultimate test by using materials available to complete a specific challenge or build something entirely new. Help them tackle their challenges!

September - June

July - August
Daily Shifts (Mon-Sun) 10:00am - 2:00pm OR 2:00PM - 6:00PM

Science Garage shifts can be scheduled on the same day each week over the course of the full summer OR, the equivalent number of hours (minimum 40) can be completed over a compressed 2 to 3 week period, with multiple daily shifts of 4 to 6 hours scheduled each week.

Nature Exchange Interpreters bring the Nature Exchange Gallery to life!!
Nature Exchange Interpreters will inspire guests of all ages to become researchers by exploring and learning about the world around them. You will help guests identify the objects they bring in to our trading post using science skills such as comparison and observation.

September - June

Daily Shifts (Mon – Sun): 9:30 am – 1:30 pm OR • 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Help Greet the World! You will be instrumental in welcoming our guests, identifying their needs, responding to questions, and directing them to their required destination in a timely and efficient manner. This is a dynamic public relations and key hosting role to promote all the programs and services that TELUS World of Science offers. Hosts will be positioned in a variety of key traffic areas and queuing stations within the main lobby.
September - June-Weekend Shifts:
Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays: 9:30am - 1:30pm or 1:30pm - 4:30pm

July - August Daily Shifts: (Mon - Sun) 10:00am - 1:30pm OR 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

September - June: Daily Shifts
10:15am - 1:15pm or 12:15pm - 3:45pm

July - August: Daily Shifts, (Mon - Sun): 10:15am - 1:15pm or 12:15pm - 3:45pm OR
Shifts in weekly Blocks: Half Day (morning or afternoon , as noted above)
Full Day 10:15am - 4:15pm.
Interpretive shifts can be scheduled on the same day each week throughout the summer, OR the equivalent number of hours (minimum 40) can be completed over a compressed 2 to 3 week period, with daily shifts 4-6 hours in length scheduled each week.

Join our team of stellar science nerds! The Birthday Party Assistant is the magic behind science centre parties for children ages 3 – 14. They bring enthusiasm and lead hands-on experiments and science activities, inspiring young minds to get messy, make mistakes, do science, and have fun!

Weekend Shifts (Sat or Sun):
10:00 am – 1:00 pm OR 1:30 pm –4:30 pm


Volunteers are requested to commit to a 3-5 hour shift per week for a total of 40 hours over a 3 month period.

As an official host for visiting schools you will welcome and usher these groups to their scheduled program activities. Learning destinations include the IMAX Theatre, the Zeidler Dome, themed exhibit galleries, interpretive science classrooms, etc.
