Ashbourne is an Independent and Assisted Living Facility steps away from the University of Alberta main campus. We have over 100 residents, many of whom are seniors. All our volunteer opportunities are flexible around a student schedule.

We are looking for someone for a weekly visit a resident with mild dementia. Volunteer shift would be 1-4 hours, depending on your availability.

Training and supervision will be provided!

Activities you might do with the resident: listen to music, play crib, cards, or checkers, do puzzles, bake, knit and crochet, attend events at Ashbourne, chat over coffee, watch sports, or go for walks.

A great opportunity for students interested in working with seniors.

Do you know how to play an instrument? Would you be willing to play once or twice a month for seniors?

Many of our seniors love listening to live music, particularly piano, guitar, strings, and woodwinds. We would love to have you in to play a short set for them once or twice a month. A piano and music stand can be provided.

Ashbourne is an Independent and Assisted Living Facility steps away from the University of Alberta main campus. We have over 100 residents, many of whom are seniors. All our volunteer opportunities are flexible around a student schedule.

We are looking for someone to run a short coffee group for women, once a week on a weekday or Saturday morning. We are currently running the coffee group from 10:30-11:30 on Wednesday mornings, but we can change the date if necessary to accommodate your schedule.

Your main role would be getting coffee for women and visiting with them.

A great opportunity for students interested in working with seniors.
