Volunteer Registry

Your Campus Connection

Description:

Famous in Ho Chi Minh City, this orphanage run by monks, is a place of charity for underprivileged children and for treating their illnesses. At present, more than 200 children live in the orphanage and receive care and education. Almost half of the children suffer from cerebral palsy, blindness or Down syndrome. The volunteers will spend time with these children, teaching basic English, playing games, and other creative activities. As part of the program, participants are expected to help renovate or improve classrooms and houses for the children, which includes cleaning and painting.

? Encourage underprivileged children to learn better for a brighter future ? Improve or renovate children's houses and classrooms to make the kids feel more at home ? Be a tiny part of a children's life that can mean all the difference ? Explore the rich culture of Ho Chi Minh City ? Meet international volunteers and gain new life long friends

Participating in an international short term volunteer project (so called Workcamp) can be an exciting prospect. It is an interesting and meaningful way to travel with purpose and spend 2-3 weeks in a foreign environment. Working and living together with other volunteers from around the world provides an excellent opportunity to make many new friends, learn about unknown places and culture, gain new skills and experience. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm can make a difference in areas where help is really needed.
After successful participation CADIP issues a certificate for the completed volunteer hours.
