Do you ever wonder where your $5 science membership fee is going? Do you know the different ways you can bring up concerns to your Science Faculty? Join the Interdepartmental Science Students' Society (ISSS) at their Semi-Annual General Meetings to ask questions about anything related to the Science Faculty Associations' role in student life. There will be free pizza and snacks, of course!

We have two First Year Councillor positions open, as well as many volunteer committees you can join! Come out and talk to us about these opportunities! :)

Persuade or Obey: Governance and Philosophy

Come join the Undergraduate Philosophy Association's second annual installment of GovWeek. For 2017, the UPA will be discussing the interplay of Plato's "Persuade or Obey" doctrine from the Crito with modern ideas of governance and philosophy. When is it appropriate to defy the social rules of our country? Does civil disobedience do any good? What is an unjust law? No background knowlege of Plato or philosophy is required. The event would be an evening, that would be a celebration of Student Governance on campus. Faculty members, students, GovWeek speakers and student group executives would all come together to socialize and exchange in a cool and fun environment on campus (RATT). Dress up formal and come network with actors of Student Governance! This would be a fundraising event, and all proceeds will go to a non-profit organization.
