Procedural Rights: Definitions
Specific terms that are relevant to procedural rights are defined below:
Complainant
A term used in university policy to refer to any person who makes a complaint against another person.
Respondent
A term used in university policy to refer to any person against whom a complaint is made.
Safe disclosure
A confidential disclosure of an alleged wrongdoing.
Interim measures
Non-disciplinary conditions that the University may impose on a person alleged to have committed sexual violence. They are not considered sanctions because they are imposed only while the investigation is still ongoing. They may be extended permanently if the person is found guilty.
