What Can I Do Online?

  • Apply online for a full-time student loan.
  • Students can download an application package, including an instruction guide and supplementary forms.
  • Check your loan processing status.
  • Read and print off a parental contriubution chart.

What Can SFAIC Do For Me?

Come into our office, and we can:

  • Answer questions about the application process, repayment, bursaries and other funding options.
  • Contact Saskatchewan Student Financial Assistance on the student's behalf, if he or she is having difficulties with the application.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, students must:

  • Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (landed immigrant).
  • Be a resident of Saskatchewan (must have lived in SK for 12 consecutive months without being a full-time post-secondary student).
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 60% of a full course load) and display satifactory progess.
  • Not be in default on previous federal or provincial loans and meet credit worthiness criteria.

Note: As an out-of-province student, a completed Program Information Form (2011/2012 form attached) must be submitted with the Saskatchewan application. This is filled out by the Student Access Centre on the 1st floor of the Administration Building.

Spring and Summer Session

  • To apply, students must fill out a NEW Saskatchewan loan application as well as a Program Information Form that must be signed by the Student Access Centre on the 1st floor of the Administration Building. These forms can be found on the SK Student Loan website.
  • Students must be enrolled full-time for a minimum of 6 weeks without a break of more than 21 days in between semesters.
