What Can I Do Online?

  • Fill out an application online.
  • Get a password for your online file.
  • Check your file.
  • Assessment simulator (calculator).
  • Print forms for financial assistance or change of circumstances.
  • Website available in English or Francais.

What Can SFAIC Do For Me?

Come into our office, and we can:

  • Answer questions and provide information regarding Quebec and Canada Student Loans, loan repayment, bursaries, and other funding options.
  • Check your application status.
  • Call Quebec on your behalf if you are having difficulties with your application (bilingual operators).

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident (landed immigrant).
  • Be a Québec resident (must have lived in PQ for 12 consecutive months without being a full-time post-secondary student).
  • Please refer to the Québec Student Financial Assistance booklet for more details about provincial residency in Québec.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 60% of a full course load) in a program approved by the Québec Minister of Education and display satisfactory progress.
  • Not be in default on previous federal or provincial loans and meet credit worthiness criteria.
  • Have legitimate financial need.

Spring and Summer Session

  • If you received funding for Fall and Winter semesters, you must complete a Declaration of Change form available online.
  • If you did not receive funding for Winter semester, you will need to submit a new full-time student loan application.
  • In both cases, a Studying Outside of Quebec - Proof of Admission or Attendance form available online, will need to be filled out by the Student Access Centre on the 1st Floor of the Administration Building.
