Receiving Your Loan

• A Notification of Temporary Assessment will be mailed to your address on file. This will direct you to the website, where you can check the type and amount of funding, as well as when and where your money will be sent.
• An Earnings Verification Form will also be mailed to the address on your file.
• If you are receiving a Canada Student Loan, the Canada Student Loan Certificate of Eligibility will be sent your mailing address. It must be signed by the University Fees Office on the 3rd floor of the Administration Building to confirm your enrollment.
• Take the signed Canada Student Loan Certificate of Eligibility to a designated Canada Post Outlet which includes the Canada Post in SUB. You will need to present your Photo ID, SIN card and banking information (void cheque).
• After classes have started, fill in the Earnings Verification Form and send it to PEI Student Financial Services. Once they have received this document, they will mail you a Notification of Final Assessment. This will direct you online where you can find details about your provincial loan assessment.
• Usually in the second semester, the PEI Loan Authorization/Certificate of Eligibility will be sent to your mailing address. It must also be signed by the University Fees Office. Be sure to complete the Financial Institution Section and sign in two places.
• Send the PEI Loan Authorization/Certificate of Eligibility to a PEI Credit Union of your choice. For a listing of the PEI Credit Unions available click here.
• Funding will usually take 5-10 business days before being deposited into your bank account. A portion may be sent automatically to the school. To check if this applies to you, contact SFAIC.
