Receiving Your Loan
  • A Notice of Assistance Letter will be mailed to the student, which will show the amount and type of funding as well as when and where the funding will be available.
  • A declaration and consent form from the Canada Revenue Agency must be signed by the student and, if applicable, the spouse or parent(s).
  • The student must sign a consent form from the Social Development Canada's Social Insurance Register that will allow Manitoba to verify SIN, name, date of birth and gender.
  • The Canada Student Loan Agreement will be sent to the student in the first semester. The Manitoba Loan Agreement will be sent in the second semester. Any Manitoba Assistance cheques wil be sent to the U of A Fees Office on the 3rd floor of the Administration Building about 5/6th throughout the year.
  • Both the Canada and Manitoba Student Loan Agreement must be signed by the Fees Office to confirm your enrollment.
  • The filled out Agreements have to be processed at a designated Canada Post Outlet that includes the Canada Post in SUB. The student will need to bring the Loan Agreement(s), Photo ID, SIN card and banking information (void cheque).
  • Funding will usually take 5-10 business days before being deposited into the student's bank account. A portion may be sent automatically to the school. Students sure if this avenue is applicable should contact SFAIC.
