Receiving Your Loan
Cashing Your Loans
- Registration is confirmed directly between the school and the Alberta government (if you are an undergraduate student and have paid your confirmation fees).
- When you receive your loan certificate(s), the school may have confirmed your registration and remitted an amount to cover part of your tuition.
- If you have confirmed loan certificates, you need only to process your loans at any designated postal outlet with your banking information or a void cheque, your SIN card and photo ID.
- If you have unconfirmed loan certificates, take them to the Fees office (3rd Floor of the Administration Building) for signing and then proceed to a designated Canada Post outlet.
- After you process your loan(s) with the Post Office, it can take up to two weeks for the funds to be deposited into your account.
Automatically Deposited Funds
- All Alberta loans issued after August 1, 2006 will be will either be automatically direct deposited or mailed as a cheque, if a previous Alberta Student Loan Certificate was signed.
- You will not have to sign another Alberta Student Loan Agreement unless you have a two year period break.
- You can visit the EDULINX website to determine the amount remitted to the University. If a you disagree with the tuition remittance amount, you will need to speak with the Fees Office on the 3rd Floor of the Administration Building.
- As of Fall 2007, all grant funding issued as part of post-secondary full-time funding will be mailed to the student as a cheque. Plans for direct deposits have been delayed.
- Canada Millennium Bursaries will not be directly deposited, but will be mailed out to the student around the date they are dispersed.
