Orientation Presentation Team Facilitators

Dana Boos

Dana is the name.

And orientation is my game.

OPFs are where it’s at...

We’re the hottest thing on the thermostat.

I’m in Phys Ed & Rec

So you can often find me on the Quidditch deck

Cupcakes are my fave

But coffee is what I crave

Hooray for not being tall!

So high fives for all!

Orientation 2012!!!

Carmen Chu

Oh hi there! My name is Carmen, and I am in my second year of sciences, specializing in immunology.

During my younger years, I wanted to be a velociraptor when I grew up. However, once I was old enough to figure out that I could not simply become a velociraptor, I changed my plans to become a Crazy Cat Lady. When not planning what instruments to teach my (future) 60 cats to play, I can be found attempting to overcome procrastination. I also enjoy books, chick flicks, and boy bands.

This is my second year volunteering with Orientation, but my first as a TF. I am super excited for this year’s Orientation because it is going to be AMAZING!

Catherine is amazing; she is an OPF

And with her awesome smiles, she is the best TF.

Catherine is in Science, she’s in year three of four

And though her Major’s Bio, she loves to study more

English and Italian are also what she likes

Her favorite candy is Mike’s Cinnamon Ikes.

And what she loves most about Orientation,

Is the planning of her presentation.

Costuming, scripts and dress rehearsals,

Her productions rival Universal’s.

She hopes this year is full of laughter,

Merriment, cheers and tons of banter.

Her TF Family is getting bigger,

But they are special, just like Tigger.

Her excitement for O Week has just begun,

She hopes that you enjoy it a ton!

Hey thanks for stopping by, oh what's that? You would like to know a little about me? Why thank you, here you are kind sir/ma'am!

I'm a proud Canadian, unabashed Arts student (political science) at the one and only University of Alberta and now part of the distinguished group know as the 2012 OPF TFs. I consider myself among the finest pond-hockey playmakers, an ambassador for split boarding and am a firm believer in the Banana Stand... Remember, there is always money in the Banana Stand!

Katie has decided to emerge from her home in Bio Sci to participate in ORENTATION 2012 as an OPF TF. This will be her third year volunteering for orientation but her first as a TF! She loves hi-fives, being awesome and playing dodgeball, especially when breaking world records. She loves Orientation because of all the cheering and school spirit and thinks that you should join us to make ORENTATION 2012 the best one ever!

Oh hey... didn't see you there. Don't mind me, I am just working on my gluts in preparation for my big screen appearance at Orientation 2012. While you're here, I will have you know that this year I decided to graciously decline Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, George Clooney, Rachel McAdams, and yes, even Indira Samarasekera, prestigious OPF positions despite their constant harassment and bribes (although if Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift or Katy Perry had persisted I may have had to make a few exceptions). You may think I am crazy, but my reasoning all TIGHEs it together...

Twas the night before Orientation, when all across campus, not a person was stirring, not even a TF with purpose. The T-shirts were distributed, to the OL's with care, In hopes that the delegates soon would be there.

The volunteers were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of cheering squads danced in their heads. And Ann with her programs, and Kevin's regime, were super excited for this year's awesome theme!

When out on the campus there arose such a clatter, the TFs sprang from their positions to see what was the matter. Away to the QUAD they flew with a clash, tearing through SUB, and across the green grass.

With an amazing staff so lively and quick, they knew in a moment that TFs must be hand-picked. More eager than beavers, to the campus they came, as the new students whistled, shouted, and called them by name!

Now OPAs! Now Arts! Now Phys Ed and Rec! Next Science, then Nursing, and of course UAX! The Campus Saint Jean with the ALES and Engineers, with Education and Presenters the last (but not least) to appear!

This rendition was brought to you by your lovely OPF TF, Lucie, who is a 3rd year English major with a little too much creativity on her hands than she knows what to do with.

Once upon a time there was a lonely little engineer. The lonely little engineer was lonely because he could find no friends on such a big huge campus. “How can I make some friends?” the lonely little engineer asked. All of a sudden, he heard a noise coming from quad. “Goodness Green’s Theorem” the little engineer exclaimed! “Now what could that be?” After Hypothesis testing the lonely little engineer concluded that the joyous roar must be coming from nothing other than… Orientation! “Now that,” the lonely little engineer thought “is how I will make some friends”. The End
