General Manager

Marc Dumouchel

The General Manager (GM) is the Students' Union's top permanent employee, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the SU and for long-term operational planning.

Reporting to the President and working closely with the rest of the Executive, the GM provides advice and helps set direction to foster continuity from year to year.

All the SU business and services report to senior managers who, in turn, report to the GM. With over 150 employees, dozens of departments, and a budget of more than ten million dollars, it's a big job.

An alumnus of the U of A, Marc holds a BA (Special) in Philosophy, and served as Students' Union President in 1991-92.

Marc is also active in the community, serving several terms as President of the board of Azimuth Theatre. He still sits on that board and is currently also a board member of the Old Strathcona Business Association.

Prior to returning to the Students' Union, Marc founded a web and technology services company and worked with a variety of clients in the arts, education, and business sectors.

As a non-student, the General Manager is a non-voting member of Students' Council and of the Executive Committee.
