What is the Council of Faculty Associations?

The Council of Faculty Associations is a consultative body that includes executive members from every faculty association. It exists to ensure that all faculty associations are knowledgeable about prevailing issues as well as offering opportunities for collaboration.

Senior Board of CoFA

The Senior board acts as the de facto head of the Council of Faculty Associations, as defined in Students’ Union Bylaw 150, and is responsible for supporting and overseeing the progress of all of its Working Groups.

Senior Board Terms of Reference

Advocacy Working Group

A subcommittee of the Senior Board, the purpose of the Advocacy Working Group is to advise the Students’ Union on faculty-level advocacy and academic issues, and to act as a forum for collaboration to promote a student-friendly environment in University and Faculty levels of governance.

Advocacy Working Group Terms of Reference

Finance and Administration Working Group

A subcommittee of the Senior Board, its purpose is to advise the Students’ Union on the financial oversight of faculty associations and the management of their membership fees, as well as to act as a forum for collaboration on the promotion of good governance in Faculty Associations.

Member Services Working Group

A subcommittee of the Senior Board, its purpose is to advise the Students’ Union on the promotion of student life and engagement, member outreach, services, and risk management, and to act as a forum for collaboration on the promotion of these initiatives.
