Sponsorship Opportunities for Week of Welcome 2015

For thousands of students, Week of Welcome (WOW) is the first event experience at of the University of Alberta Students’ Union, and the university as a whole. With extensive student interaction, WOW kick starts the new academic year: welcoming 35, 000 undergraduate students to campus with activities that include daily pancake breakfasts, live music, interactive games & activities in quad, evening events, and exposure to many of the universities 400+ student groups in the WOW Village. Impossible to miss, Week of Welcome is the largest event of the school year.

With massive branding and advertising opportunities and located in the centre of campus, sponsors get direct access to university students as they begin a new school year. Including engaging activities and an unparalleled campus presence, WOW is a unique opportunity to promote, reach out, and successfully target the University of Alberta community.

This year sponsors are able to customize their Week of Welcome presence.

By allowing sponsors to choose when, where, and how involved they are, the Students’ Union ensures its partners are able to get the best value from the week in a way that meets their individual needs. As more resources are invested, different sponsorship levels are unlocked, providing massive branding and exposure benefits to the University of Alberta community.

WOW Village

SEPTEMBER 1 – 4, 2015

Located in Quad, the heart of campus, the WOW Village is the most interactive location on campus, seeing thousands of students daily. Directly adjacent to our WOW Mainstage, the WOW Village is home to the Clubs Fair, pancake breakfast, quad activities, ticket sales, photo booths, and handbook distribution.

WOW Tabling in the Students' Union Building (SUB)

The busiest building on campus gets even more traffic during WOW. With 10, 000+ students seen daily, SUB space is only available to WOW sponsors during the first week of September

By limiting SUB tabling during these weeks, we ensure that the most active and valuable time of the year is exclusive to our sponsors. Dates will be coordinated with the Sponsorship Manager.

Beer Gardens Access

SEPTEMBER 1 – 4, 2015

With an arsenal of live bands and accompanying food/beverage service, the 4-day Mainstage in Quad sees 2500+ students, faculty, and staff every day. Sponsors get unprecedented access to this outdoor music festival, with unique banners, giveaways, and access to the students enjoying the last vestiges of summer in our licensed area.

Exclusive Evening Event Presentation

SEPTEMBER 1 – 5, 2015

Each evening of WOW has a different featured Night Event. As a presenting partner, sponsors will receive exclusive marketing, advertising, public thanks, giveaway opportunities, and other associated options at one chosen event. This year’s night events include: free movie nights, a hypnotist, a comedy night, and an outdoor headphone disco.

Pancake Breakfast

With 5 free pancake breakfasts services, WOW sees thousands of students fed for free every morning. Title sponsors of the pancake breakfast will receive event specific advertising, as well as the opportunity to be present during service hours.

President's Address Presenting Sponsor

AUGUST 31, 2015

The University of Alberta President's Address continues a long tradition of students being welcomed into their new academic environment by the University President, among other assembled speakers. Sponsors of this event will receive logo branding in all facets and "presented by" in the event title, as well as dedicated stage time to speak to the 4000+ assembled students. This is a particularly unique opportunity as it will be the first President's Address by the new U of A President, Dr. David Turpin.
